Google Pixel Tag is Google’s first finder tag for everyday items. Announced with Made by Google 2026, it pins keys, wallets, and luggage into Find Hub. A single tag costs $29. A four-pack costs $99. Google says it hits shelves on November 11, and the Google Store lists availability for November 2026.
The pill-shaped tracker measures 1.8 by 1.1 by 0.2 inches and weighs about 0.4 ounces with its battery. Stainless steel and polycarbonate aim to resist flexing. Moreover Google rates it IP67 for dust and water, including up to one meter for 30 minutes. A user-replaceable CR2032 coin cell is rated for more than a year under typical use.
How Google Pixel Tag finding works
Setup is Fast Pair. Pull the battery tab, bring the tag near an Android 9 or newer phone, and finish naming in Find Hub. You can share a tag with up to 10 people for shared items. Within Bluetooth range, Find Hub can play a sound on the tag. The tag also has a button that rings your phone, even if the phone is silent.
For closer hunts, Google pairs Ultra Wideband Precision Finding with Bluetooth Channel Sounding. Compatible phones get distance and direction cues when the tag is nearby. Therefore a lost key under laundry or between couch cushions is less of a pure map problem. Left Behind alerts can warn you before you walk away from a tagged item.
Out of range, Find Hub uses Google’s crowdsourced Android network of more than one billion devices. Location data is end-to-end encrypted. In addition, your phone can alert you if an unknown tracker appears to travel with you, with tips to ring and identify it.
Compatibility and Pixel extras
Basic pairing works on Android 9 and later. Precision Finding needs an Ultra Wideband-capable Android phone. Engadget notes Channel Sounding needs Android 16 or later and Bluetooth 6.0 on the phone side. Still, the official blog points readers to UWB-capable Pixels and other supported Android devices for the guided find experience.
Pixel owners get more surfaces. You can ring the tag from a Pixel Watch through Find Hub. You can also ask Gemini on Pixel Buds to play a sound. That keeps the feature inside the wider Made by Google accessory stack, not only the phone app.
Price and what to watch
